Purpose
Jesters Gmail Integration is a privately operated desktop application integration used to help an administrator prepare correspondence relating to membership of The Jesters Club.
Its current use is to prepare a personalised welcome-email draft for a newly completed member, with the relevant PDF enclosures, ready for the administrator to check in Gmail.
How it works
- The administrator selects a membership record in an existing desktop workflow.
- The application prepares the intended recipient, email content and standard PDF attachments using the administrative records.
- With the administrator's Google authorisation, the application creates a draft in that administrator's Gmail account.
- The administrator reviews the draft and decides whether to send, amend or delete it. The application does not send messages automatically.
The application is not a public membership portal. It does not provide web access to the membership database. This website is solely for information about the Gmail integration.
Google account access
The application requests Gmail draft-composition permission (gmail.compose). Google describes this permission broadly; the current application implementation uses it to confirm the authorised account and create drafts, not to read incoming mail or automatically send messages.
